I loved working with Shannon and if I ever need a doula again I will be sure to work with her. Shannon is very personable, knowledgeable and relaxed. I loved just chatting with her and learning from her. She takes the time to get to know you and is there for you during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum days. She even helped me find a new doctor in my third trimester. Her passion for what she does is evident in the fact that she holds free motherhood support meetings monthly. She does not push any sort of agenda on you...she is a caring, lovely woman who seeks to serve others. My husband and I met Christine through her massage services. Her personality made us feel at
ease and the massage was wonderful. When we found out we were pregnant, we connected with
her as our doula. Our pregnancy and natural home birth would not have been the same without
her support, wisdom, and prayers. She spoke so much life into our birth plan, always
encouraging us. Both myself and my husband felt supported by her during and after our son's
birth in ways we couldn't have imagined. She is truly gifted in many ways. We're so thankful that

Rachael helped me achieve the birth experience I had been preparing for. From the first meeting, I knew she'd be the right person to help me and my husband bring our son into the world. She understood my vision and goals for unmedicated, low/no intervention birth. She gave me great resources while also making me feel like what I was trying to do was possible. We had great correspondence during my pregnancy and I always felt she was accessible if I needed. As we got closer, we talked more often and with our first in person meeting, I again felt completely comfortable with her, as did my husband. When the big day arrived, she was prompt and ready to go. My active labor & transition came quite quickly and having Rachael's presence there was such a big help. She kept reminding me to relax my body, she offered different positions and worked with my husband and nurses to help me feel safe and supported. She provided a constant, calm. Also, my husband and I are so happy we did an after birth in home visit. As first time parents, it's so overwhelming to bring baby home. It was just amazing to have someone who is experienced to come in and answer all the questions we had at home. She helped us understand how to use some products we had and just helped us overall feel more confident. No question was off limits. If you're wishing for an unmedicated birth, I firmly believe a doula is a must, and Rachael is someone anyone would be lucky to have next to them during labor and delivery and beyond. My Unmedicated Birth Was Everything I hoped for with Shannon’s Support
We had such a great first-time birth experience with Catherine's doula support. We strived for a natural, unmedicated, vaginal birth at a hospital and her expertise allowed us to be the best prepared as possible. After our prenatal visit and numerous resources she provided we went into delivery very confident. Our story took a turn when our plan didn't go as hoped and we ended up needing a vacuum delivery for the health of the baby. Having Catherine there throughout the entire process was such a reassuring comfort and she worked great alongside hospital staff, keeping our best interest as priority. She provided hands on guidance for my husband assisting me through many positions throughout labor and talked us through all the decisions we needed to make on the spot. She was a great calming presence that helped us stay focused and determined through a long and complicated delivery. We would highly recommend having a doula for a natural birth, and we cannot say enough good things about Catherine. - Hannah Leonardi

Christine was wonderful in the lead up to the labor and birthing process, providing us countless
resources and helping us think through and develop our birthing plan. She was incredibly
encouraging throughout the pregnancy and her emotional support to me and my wife was
priceless during the labor process. Christine helped direct me and she played a large role in
helping my wife to endure contractions. At times, her extensive knowledge of the birthing

We hired Shannon for the birth of our first child and it was THE best decision! I'm glad I advocated for a doula and went with my gut during our interview. She positively changed the course of our pregnancy journey. From our initial interview, Shannon shaped how we pursued prenatal care. Her insight and knowledge led us to switch OB practices and hospitals, a move that ultimately aligned better with the birth experience we wanted. That alone changed everything for the better as our midwives and OBs empowered my husband and I with every interaction. When early labor began, Shannon was fully present with us through text and phone while we labored at home for 20 hours. Her guidance helped us manage contractions, interpret labor signs, troubleshoot and ”most importantly” stay home longer: one of our main goals to reduce the likelihood of unnecessary interventions at the hospital. She always knew the right question to ask ”not to give us the answer, but to help US arrive at the answer that aligned with our values (just as she had in our initial interview). Her presence made us feel steady, capable, and confident. After transitioning to the hospital, she was a grounding, calming force ”intuitive, encouraging, and fully attuned to both me and my husband. She worked fluidly alongside the medical team who recognized her as an asset with much respect.
Shannon is a huge part of our birth story and I'm so grateful we found her. Shannon is the kind of support person every birthing family deserves: wise, warm, grounded, thoughtful, and endlessly prepared. She made us feel supported, informed, and empowered. We cannot recommend her enough and hope she will be by our side as we plan to grow our family in the future. -Ashley L
Shannon was my doula for my first child in 2023, and thanks to her calm support, and her familiarity with the process and all of the unfamiliar details, my unmedicated birth was everything I had hoped. We communicated well when labor started and I felt confident laboring at home thanks to her advice. At the hospital, because she was by my side, I felt that I was better able to advocate for myself. I felt comforted that she was there explaining what was happening, as the nurses, etc. weren't there just for me, but she was. Catherine was a genuine, kind, warm doula who cheered us on as we welcomed our miracle baby. Our birth did not go according to plan, we were induced rather than unmedicated, and Catherine helped coach us through the decisions and expectations. She was exactly what we needed in our time of exhaustion and confusion. We also share our Christian faith, so that brought another awesome element to our birth experience with Catherine. Catherine Young was an absolutely wonderful doula - I only wish we'd had more of her during the birth, it all happened so fast! The moment I connected with Catherine, I knew she was the right doula for me and my family and I canceled all of my other doula interviews. She has such a calming and warm presence, and I knew that I wanted that at my birth. Every question that I had, Catherine sent an abundance of information, and truly cared about all of my concerns. When I expressed concern about hospital birth because of the experience with my first, she gave me all of the resources I needed to find a home birth midwife and helped me to conclude that it was right for me and my family. I really appreciate how Catherine took the time to help me find answers to all of my questions, to get to know my family, and to figure out how to best support us. She stayed with us after the birth until we were all settled and continued to follow-up on our wellbeing. I have no idea how my wife found Shannon, but I feel very lucky to have worked with her. My understanding of a doula as the supporting parent in the birth was an expensive person in the room talking to my wife about how to breathe and stay calm. Boy was I wrong!! My wife had always dreamed of having a natural birth, and without Shannon’s support she would never have got one. Shannon directed us to a Bradley Method class to help us prepare, but our baby was breech at 37 weeks. We were told a C-section was in order and an ECV wasn’t recommended because it wouldn’t be successful. The OB who said this never seemed receptive to our birth plan, and there were other red flags too.
Shannon let us know that we did have other options, and not all midwife/ OB groups would feel the same way. Through Shannon’s connections we were able to switch to a new midwife/OB and hospital group late in her 3rd trimester. We had a successful ECV performed.
Come to the birth day and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. Shannon not only led us to an amazing OB/MW practice and hospital, she was also very hands-on involved in the birthing process. She helped with positions, and used several soothing and pushing techniques with my wife. She knew when it was appropriate to switch gears, and she brought out a strength in my wife ”both physically and mentally ”that might not have been possible without Shannon’s guidance.
Shannon also took care of me. Her presence made me feel safe to trust and enjoy the beauty of natural birth. She helped me to feel involved in the process and reminded me to drink water too :p. We couldn’t have asked for a better birth for our first child and will take advantage of Shannon’s services for the birth of all of our future babies. We can’t thank her enough.- Kaitlyn Wilkes
